If an educated consumer is your best customer (as one New York retailer likes to say), Wilson Sonsini’s recent launch of its online CLE program (hat tip “Strategic Legal Technology“) is a clever move.

Certainly making your clients look smart is something they are likely to thank you for.  Demonstrating your expertise in the process helps too.

Providing client training is a client relationship strategy that’s worked well for CPA firms for many years and has now migrated from the “classroom” to the web.  Robust online delivery platforms and client comfort and familiarity with webinar formats has made this a win-win.

So ask yourself the following question:

Are we telling our clients what we know – or are we teaching our clients what we know?

It’s a distinction that warrants careful consideration when it comes to your client relationship and business development activities.
